I first visited Canyon Creek in 2015 when Amy Peterson was the care director and revisited the facility when Amy left and Marianne took over. My mother had Alzheimer’s disease and I kept her in our home as long as I could until the demands of the 24/7 care became too much for me to handle on my own. I provided full-time care for my mother, Sharon, for five years from our home in eastern Montana before transitioning her to Canyon Creek in 2016. Advice to management includes prioritizing resident safety, increasing staff ratios, showing appreciation and kindness, providing healthcare benefits, and enforcing policies.
